Contactless Limit Increase

Limit to be increased from £30 to £45

The British Retail Consortium announced that the contactless limit is to be increased from £30 to £45 from the 1st April 2020.

This is intended to reduce the use of cash during the Coronavirus outbreak as this can be a way of transmitting the virus.

RSM 2000 are aware of the announcement and the change has now been confirmed by the acquirers.

We have checked with our terminal suppliers and they are either ready with, or are preparing, configuration changes to be sent to the terminals as part of their normal regular updates.

Most terminals check overnight for any changes so this amended limit should be deployed quickly and automatically and no intervention should be required by merchants using RSM 2000 supplied equipment.
