Secure Mail uses highly secure encryption techniques to send confidential or sensitive information to the intended recipient via email. The recipient does not need any special software, simply an internet connection, web browser, and an email address.

Access is via user name and password. A message can be opened any number of times. Older emails can still be opened using the current password.

VSM technology can be used with single documents, such as contracts or settlement details, but also with bulk email systems. When integrated with accounting database systems, large batches of statements or invoices can be sent out securely.

The Inland Revenue and the VAT office have both evaluated the VSM security format.

VSM provides the ability to track all emails and generate full audit trails. It can easily be established when a document has been viewed by the holder of the username and password. Usernames and passwords can also be organised in a hierarchial system, to allow more control.

When linked to RSM2000 Ltd's micro-payment system, VSM provides another mechanism for secure distribution of electronic vouchers.
